The Vermont State Police announced Monday, July 7, 2025, that the death of Tina Daigle, a 38-year-old Hardwick woman, has been ruled a homicide. The Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington determined the cause of death was asphyxiation/compression of the neck, with the manner classified as homicide/assault by another.
The investigation began on June 19, 2025, when state police received a report of a body found at a roadside pull-off along Route 14 in Woodbury. First responders confirmed the deceased was a woman, later identified as Daigle, and investigators immediately deemed the death suspicious.
An autopsy was conducted the following day, June 20, but the cause and manner of death were not finalized until this week’s update.Vermont State Police, including the Major Crime Unit, Bureau of Criminal Investigations, Crime Scene Search Team, Field Force Division, and Victim Services Unit, have been actively working the case.
